Until Next Time, NYC

If you follow me on Instagram or saw our update on Facebook, you know that we’ve packed our bags on city living in NYC and returned to suburbia. There were a few factors at play, but it really boiled down to being closer to family. Although it seems as if we moved overnight (and kind of feels that way!), there was actually a good bit of forethought that went into this decision. But because of the craziness of NYC renting, we didn’t want to announce our departure until we knew it was a sure thing. So here we are!

The move is bittersweet, but we’re super excited for the months ahead. Currently, our new home looks like a bomb went off, as we’re trying to unpack, put furniture together, get organized, and wrangle two crazy kids. We’ve got more updates to come (as well as how this move affects our budget), so thanks for your patience — and stay tuned!

Good luck! I realized a long time ago that being around good friends and family is invaluable. NYC will always be a nice spot to visit and reminisce 🙂

Wow! Big changes afoot! Wishing you the best of luck with the move back home and getting settled back in! I suppose it’s better to do it now while the kids are young and not tied into schools etc. Looking forward to future posts when life settles down! 🙂 🙂

I have absolutely loved following your journey in New York. I think I have a bit of an obsession with that city. Being near family can be so important when you have little ones. Can’t wait to hear about your new adventures.

Leaving Manhattan sounds like a good choice with two little kids! I look forward to the budget update!

Oh Wow! I’m excited to hear the details. I know you guys have way more experience with moving than me. I’ve only moved once in my adult life and it was not fun. Mr. Crackin’ and I are starting to have thoughts though about what it would be like to NOT be shackled and chained to a property. Maybe one day!

Hi Guys! Tough decision to make, I’m sure, but you probably know deep down what’s best long term for you and especially for the kids. So no regrets, no looking back, just go for what life’s opportunities await you and I’m sure it’s the right move if you all are happy. Sure, this move probably affects your budget (short term as well as long term) but I’ve no doubt that you both can well manage it. Good luck to you.
