All Wrapped Up – March 15

Johnny and I stayed very busy with our jobs this week (did I mention I’ve started back work? Shyeah.). On Monday night I was telling Johnny it felt like it should already be the weekend. So I welcome Friday with a big bear hug, the kind that lasts just a little longer than necessary and causes an awkward chuckle (I wanted to put “titter” here but Johnny says that’s a weird word). Friday, I love you man.

FAVE POSTS

I’m always looking for easy meals for Johnny and me. Jessica over at Pretty Providence gives a tutorial for compiling 10 freezer meals that can be thrown into the crockpot. And did I mention she includes a shopping list? I’ll be trying this out on my next shopping trip!

If you follow other personal finance blogs, you’ve most definitely heard of Mr. Money Mustache. But if you’re only a casual observer, you can find out all about him and his mustachian philosophies in this post.

First of all, congrats to all Catholics on your new Pope! We’re not of the faith, but that’s some exciting stuff. Now are you ready to have your mind blown? Check out these photos from 2005 and 2013 posted by NBC News.

Have a freaking fun weekend!

Oh those cheeks and that little chin cleft!! Love it! We have a Mac mini connected to our tv and when the screen saver comes up it has all the girls’ pics and I get mesmerized by their tiny baby photos! I miss the smell…the good one anyway!

When I discovered the crock pot I fell in love! Best invention ever…a co-worker had told me about it and I was like do you need a magic wand? She was kind enough to buy me my first…that was about 7 years ago. I’m thinking of upgrading to one of the ones that has a timer.

Hubby and I were looking forward to heading to our towns annual beer fest (him for the beer, me to laugh at his drunken stupidity) but not sure we will make it…we have been a house full of sick people this week. Next week I head out solo for 4 days to AZ for my best friends wedding. I will miss my babies and husband terribly, but will have 4 days to spend with my crew from high school days! MUCH needed break…especially after all the stress of being out of work. When I come back I will head back to work on the 25th!!!

Our Baby Girl definitely has a new baby smell. I’ll be sitting at work and miss it. But she’s definitely starting to make other smells that aren’t the freshest. And we’ve heard horror stories about smells once they start eating solids.

Hope all the sickness has gotten out of your house. Safe travels this week and enjoy that dry, desert heat!

Another great pic of your little one, I see. I bet she’ll become a real handful once she starts walking and talking !!! 🙂

Being Catholic, we watched the Rome events this week. It seems that this new Pope Francis is really the frugal type. He lived frugally all his life, working with the poor, and it’s reported that yesterday he even went back to his hotel to collect his own baggage and pay off his bill there. Me-thinks that I should send him your blog’s address so that you frugal guys and him can then trade tips! 🙂

Haha. All Catholics have a direct line to the Vatican, right? 🙂 I’ve read up on Pope Francis’ background over the last few days. This was a nice video summary I watched on the Church’s website: http://www.catholic.org/video/watch.php?v=7100.

So just let me know when you can arrange our chat. 🙂

I’m sending up some white smoke signals to Rome as we speak! 🙂

    Oh my what a cutie!

      Thanks, Michelle!

OMG I’m SO JEALOUS that you are going to see Jim Gaffigan! That is definitely a worthy splurge, if you ask me, and actually it’s a screaming deal compared to when he last came to SLC. The nosebleed seats were $120! I was heartbroken. Hoping to go see him in the next year or so though.

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:37 pm

Woah! That’s some major price gouging! But I guess that’s what happens when family-friendly comedians roll into family-friendly Utah. 🙂

He was awesome, definitely worth the splurge when he rolls into your neck of the woods.

  • Reply Chris March 15, 2013 at 11:57 am

Aw those are the chubbiest cheeks ever.

Have fun on your date night! Jim Gaffigan is hilarious!

Titter is such a weird word. I can’t even say it out loud without blushing a little bit.

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:40 pm

When Joanna had me proofread the post, I thought she put it in there to check to make sure I actually read it over. But nope, she was serious.

Jim Gaffigan was awesome. It’s a tough call for my favorite comedian between him and Zac Galifinakis. Depends on the day.

Joanna, Johnny is nuts, titter is a great word. Our daughter has that exact same onesie too!

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:43 pm

I’m going to try and sneak “titter” into a print ad at work and see what happens.

Clearly with a name like Johnny, you’ve got good taste in onesies, too. The similarities run deep, Johnny.

  • Reply Brian March 15, 2013 at 4:13 pm

And now all I can think of is “hot pocket.”

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:46 pm

Haha. He ended the show with his Hot Pocket rant, and despite having watched the entire bit on YouTube at least a dozen times over the years, it was still amazing.

  • Reply Catherine March 15, 2013 at 5:36 pm

SO stinkin’ cute!!!! You’re giving me baby fever. Almost.

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:47 pm

Haha. Sometimes she gives US baby fever. And then she wakes us up three times in the middle of the night and we remember why we’re not going to have another one for at least a few years. 🙂

  • Reply anna March 15, 2013 at 7:05 pm

Oh my gosh, baby girl is so adorable! And I LOVE Jim Gaffigan – “Kitty wants some candy…” Have a blast!

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:56 pm

Hahaha. I totally forgot about that skit.

I don’t know if there’s anyone in the world more self-deprecating than him. And I love him for it.

She just gets cuter with every picture you post, guys. 🙂 Every time I see a pic of her, I think of how quickly our babes have grown up. Be careful: you may just wake up tomorrow and find that she’s a teenager. 🙂

    • Reply Johnny March 18, 2013 at 11:59 pm

      Thanks, Laurie!

I can’t even fathom how freaked out I’ll be when she’s a teenager. Sounds like it might be time to invest in a shotgun, I mean, boyfriend repellant. 🙂
