All Wrapped Up – March 23

Last night, Johnny and I ate our first normal dinner in weeks. What defines normal? Well, the food was still warm for both of us, and we actually ate it at the same time, uninterrupted. The trick? We didn’t eat until Baby Girl was in bed, at about 9:30. Okay, that’s kind of late for dinner, but I think we should start eating at that time every night. My food was WARM! And I didn’t spill any on myself because I didn’t have a baby in one arm. It was pretty much amazing… a perfect start to the weekend.

We’ve really enjoyed seeing a bunch of new readers around here. Splurge of the Week

Cadbury Mini Eggs$3 – These chocolate babies are far and above all other Easter candy. And don’t you dare fight me on this one. The bag is still sitting unopened in our candy drawer, though, because of the DietBet I’m doing. Curses!

That’s awesome that you two finally got to eat warm food together 🙂

Thanks, Michelle! It was pretty darn awesome. Maybe we’ll make it a new Friday night tradition! 😉

LOL! That’s actually one of the reasons I list for why I don’t have kids- I cannot stand eating cold food!

Haha! Johnny and I had no clue what we were getting ourselves into! Now as long as I manage to eat something (ANYTHING) at each meal, I consider it a success.

Welcome to parenthood. :-). Did you ever see The Christmas Story, where the narrator says the mom hasn’t had a warm meal in 15 years? Well, it’s true. But worth every bite of cold food. That being said, when those rare warm meals come along, it’s absolutely wonderful. And Rick wonders why I love going out to eat so very much. DUH!

I haven’t watched that movie since we had Baby Girl, but your’re right — it’s so true! It’s funny because things like eating a cold meal or getting spit up on my shirt (or, let’s be honest — poop), would have put me in a really bad mood before having a baby. Now I couldn’t care less because I’m so in love with the cutie who’s causing it all. She’s got me wrapped around her little finger!

Thanks guys for the mention. Things get pretty nuts when you have kids. Especially when you have 2 kids under 2 years old (don’t do this!) It gets easier though, I promise.

I’ve actually had some nightmares over the past few weeks where we spontaneously had another baby. In fact, in one dream, we had twins. Don’t know how you and others do it. But you do, so kudos. It’s getting easier and more fun every week.
