It’s the freakin’ weekend, Imma bouta have me some fun. That’s the line Johnny gets to hear me sing every Friday. And while he might not like it, he’s yet to threaten divorce, so I’m just gonna keep on keepin’ on.
So after this weekend, our girl officially has teeth! Well, a tooth. And at least one other on the way. And while this means she’s extra clingy and more than a tad grumpy at times, Johnny and I were very overly excited about this new milestone. One of the requirements of being new parents is to freak out over even the tiniest achievements, right? And we are definitely fulfilling that just fine.
Aside from teething, this weekend was also chock full of college football watching. Or as I like to put it, book reading. Our only spending this weekend was $10 on two Little Caesars pizzas, which was one perk of staying in this weekend. We both had long weeks, and it was nice to get in some much needed R&R. And I must add that by some miracle we all took a Sunday nap at the same time! I didn’t even know that could happen, people!
And in other belated news, the weekend previously, Johnny and I went to a football game sans baby and screamed our hearts out. Oh, and this didn’t happen over the weekend, but I had to share a picture of our little naked girl. Her newest trick, if you can call it that, is to crawl away mid-diaper change. And despite the potential hazards it poses, I can’t help but love seeing her and her naked bum trying to make a quick escape.
That’s all in our neck of the woods. How was your weekend?

She is so cute!
Low-key weekends are great. I made $50 doing some dog-sitting and spent far less than that all weekend, so I consider it a win! 😀 Have a great week!
“Her newest trick, if you can call it that, is to crawl away mid-diaper change.”
Funny how every little one that I’ve ever known knows about this trick – and usually does it at least once in front of company! 🙂
I remember my wisdom teeth growing in and thinking, “no wonder babies cry so much when they teeth.” I always loved chewing gum to help it.
I spent my Saturday driving to Amarillo, TX for some good ol’ fashion disc golf, shopping, and an insane amount of sports watching at B Dubs. I got to see Johnny Football lose and Boston win AND the greatest UFC fight in the history of UFC fights. It was #bestdayever including a CRAZY awesome pants sale at Dillard’s where I scored 3 pairs of sweet slacks plus a nice polo for under $40 (cue victory music).
I long for a low-key weekend… can’t wait til things cool down in our household. Your daughter is adorable and I’d be just as excited for all the firsts too.
This post makes me smile 🙂
