What are your plans for the big night tonight? Johnny and I usually keep our Halloween nights pretty low key, but this year we’re planning to take Sally out trick or treating for the very first time!
We did a test run last Friday with her when some local shops did trick or treating. We had no idea how she would react, but our girl loved it. She took it very seriously, and by the end, she didn’t even want Daddy holding her hand. It’s all Sally’s talked about this week. She carries her pumpkin everywhere and yells, “Treat! Treat!!” It’s a little bit frightening, actually. Tomorrow, I hide that pumpkin forever.
We had no idea how to dress Sally up this year, but we knew it was one of the last years she wouldn’t have an opinion about her costume. And so our little aerobic/jazzercise instructor was born. We bought a $13 leotard from H&M, and we had all the other pieces of her costume on hand. It was easy, cheap, and she gets lots of laughs. Here are a few pictures of our girl in action last Friday!
Happy Halloween, everybody!

Happy Halloween, guys! Have a great time taking Sally out tonight. It brings back lots of memories of when we used to take our two kids out.
Tonight, while handing goodies out to the “vast hordes” in our neighbourhood, I’ll be celebrating my b/day – boo!
(Da debbil made me do it!) 🙂
Hope you had a great birthday, Rob!
Happy Halloween! That costume is adorable! I love the little leg warmers. And she looks so determined–on a mission! Hope you have a wonderful time trick-or-treating tonight.
That’s pretty sweet.
We dressed our new baby up this year for like $5. We dressed her up as baby Pubert from Addams Family values… All we had to buy was a $1 pack of black spiders to safety pin to a gray onesie (which we already had) and a $4 sensitive skin eye liner thingy to put the mustache on her. People think a baby with a mustache is hilarious… don’t think they got what she really was tho….
I think our new goal is to come up with an original costume every year. I don’t think some people knew what Sally was either, but it sure was fun knowing she was the only kid dressed up like that!
This is hilarious! Sally is so adorable 🙂 Happy Halloween!
HA! she is sooo CUTE!!!! Happy Halloween from the North Pole! 🙂
Very cute, creative, and affordable! We got our girl a $0.50 bumblebee costume from a garage sale this summer, but seeing as it’s 30 degree out today, we’re going to have to put her in a coat and heavy pants underneath that costume! Thank goodness you didn’t have to deal with that!
Please tell me that you both dressed up as aerobics instructors as well. He could be Richard Simmons, she could be Jane Fonda…
You know when you drive through road construction and there is that guy who holds the STOP/SLOW sign? That is my 3 year old’s dream job, so we got him a little hard hat and vest and made him a sign. We are dressing in hard hats/vests as well. Our son so excited. In just a few years, he probably won’t want to be seen with us, but right now the coolest thing he can think of is the three of us going to the neighborhood block party in matching outfits.
Ha! We really wanted to dress up, but then the time got away from us. Plus, I think Johnny would have enjoyed that costume a little too much because he’s a weirdo.
And your little guy’s costume sounded amazing! I’m so glad our kids are still at an age where they think it’s cool to hang out with us. I hope it lasts forever.
LOOOOOVE!!!
Awww!! Sally! I love your costume! I”m passing out candy for a little bit and then watching Hocus Pocus. I did buy a $3 witch’s hat though. And I’m halfway considering carving a pumpkin at the last minute…
Adorable!
Loving those little leg warmers! She looks adorable 🙂
Absolutely adorable!
